The Opportunity
As a trustee you will bring a passion for community, art, culture and technology, as well as a range of skills and experience. You will work alongside individuals in a supportive and creative environment. You will have plenty of opportunities to experience Same Sky’s work and support fundraising activities. Our Trustees support the Artistic and Executive Director in the strategic positioning of the organisation, and help the company achieve structured growth and build new partnerships locally and regionally.
The specialist trustee for communications and PR will act as a spokesperson for Same Sky occasionally as required at key events, such as Burning the Clocks. They will also be invited to provide leadership, guidance and support for communication, PR and media campaigns at key times of the year (focusing on one or two flagship events in the year).
The specialist trustee for education and working with schools, will support Samesky’s work with local schools, helping us network, develop relationships and opportunities for teacher training, and school project participation.
You will attend five Board meetings and up to two strategy meetings each year. You will advocate for Same Sky and this includes fundraising; supporting recruitment; feeding into strategic development; acting as ‘critical friend’; and attending networking events.
Trustee Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of trustees is to provide the organisation with strategic leadership and maintain a governance perspective to ensure it is well managed and administered, and resources are used appropriately.
