What is the theme for this year?

The Children’s Parade theme was chosen by Musician and Composer Anoushka Shankar, the Guest Director for Brighton Festival 2025. As a parade of ideas for a better day this year’s theme is:

OUR VOICE

Things we want to Change

              What can get better, what do we want to bring into the world?

Things we want to Cherish

              What do we want to keep, and remind people is vital to us?

Things we want to Chuck

              What should we stop doing to make a better world?

When and where does the parade start?

Saturday 3 May, 10.30am
Starts on Jubilee Street
Ends on Madeira Drive

What are the road closures and driving advice?

Road closures and timings will be posted on our social media @sameskybtn nearer the date.

Driving and travelling with a vehicle on event day is not reccomended. If driving avoid the centre of town if you can. Traffic will be slow and some roads will be closed. The A259 will be open but moving slowly

Where is the best place to watch the parade?

The parade winds through central Brighton and ends on the beach. The best spots to catch the action are:

• • The Lanes near Brighton Town Hall: Perfect for an up-close view of the lanterns and costumes.
  • North Street: Excellent viewpoint as the parade passes near this route.
  • Marine Parade: Allows spectacular views of the parade as it finishes the beachfront.  If you want to avoid the crowds in the city centre, this has a lovely view of the parade arriving at the finish point.
