Parade puppet — Animated characters
Talented artists are integral to Burning the Clocks, and animated lanterns have always been a feature of the event. Artists create fantastically articulated large puppets and animate them through the streets.
Nikki became part of the Same Sky team in 1994.

1. Drawing. The sketching begins!
2. Model. I wanted to make my lantern as if I was making an animated dragon lantern for the parade
Time to see if my designs work & figure out how to string up & hang my dragon
3. Tape outline. Using cut thin masking tape, I draw my dragon to scale on the rug.
4. Willow work started, 2D Dragon has arrived.
5. Strung. My little Dragon is all strung up, Lights fitted (Thank you John for her fiddly bespoke lights)
